Thank you for the article on Tuscan movies. I loved Stealing Beauty and A Room with a View. Do you happen to know if there was another movie (a comedy) set in Tuscany in which a widow has to raise marijuana to make a living, and an assorted group of charactors end up helping her? It was hilarious but I can't remember the title. Thanks again.

I read through this blog and it sounded way too much like something I would love to do in the future. I have been living in Fiesole for the past 6 months working as an au pair for a great family. I have been thinking of what I want to do next and all I want is more adventure. Although this post is from almost 2 years ago (wow!), I couldn't help but read it again and respond and hopefully get a response back. I wonder if you could email me personally (ebnerkelsey@gmail.com) as I have several questions I would love to ask!
Warm Regards,

I totally agree with your review of In Tavola. My wife and I attended on our last vacation and it was one of our fondest memories. To learn a new cooking technique from a true Italian is an experience you won't forget. Thanks for the post!

Best,
Glenn

Have you ever been to the Venice carnival? I was there another time, and the Venice nightlife was practically dead.

Hi, mi name is Graciela, me and my husband live in Florence for the last 4 years.
I have to say something about what happend to us last saturday afternoon in Fiesole:
After having a great dinner we decided to go to Teatro de la limonaia to check if we were able to get in the show: my husband, me and OUR LITTLE BLACK PUG. Because we coudn't find any advise, before getting the tickets just to be sure, we asked EVERYONE in the teatre if small dogs were allowed to get in and ALL OF THEM SAY YES, even the gardians were very friendly to the dog, so yeah! we got the tickets.
We were very happy also cause i wanted so bad to see this performance:
a mix of ballet and break dance. We were sat already in our places and the show was about to start when all of a sudden we saw this arrrogant tall thin young lady coming so fast toward us very decided to tell us that we had to go because of the dog. My husband thought was a joke and after a small discution to clear the situation (this arrogant lady was in the groupe of people that we askED before if we were able to get with the dog) we left the theatre. It was very odd and sad, we were treated very bad and this is sad when you love a beautiful place like Fiesole.

Mmmm an Italian cooking class sounds amazing! All of the dishes I had in Florence, and the coffee, and the desserts, were all delicious, so I can imagine you had a LOT of fun while learning how to cook there!

My favorite dish was pasta with cream sauce, pears, and some herbs, I wish I could find that recipe here back at home!

Did you try the famous Florentine steak? I saw it pass by me a few times at the restaurants…I couldn’t miss it… it is huge!

I am glad that you get to take it easy as you study abroad, you want to enjoy as much of Italy as you can :)

Have a great time learning the Italian language, and the art of Italian cooking!
